Destination: Cala d'Or

Its unmistakable charms were discovered by a group of avant-garde artists who settled here in the 1930s. Soon after their arrival, the word spread and Cala d’Or took off. It became the perfect place for a relaxing seaside vacation or if possible to invest in a holiday home.

The small village and harbour are located in one of the many rocky coves with sandy beaches (calas) that you’ll find all over Mallorca’s east coast.

The main street (Avinguda Tagomago) is lined with stylish leather shops, chic boutiques and galleries. You can find all the top designer labels here, available at reasonable prices. Shoes in particular, are very good value. You can pick up some great souvenirs here. There’s a wide variety of local crafts, traditional pottery and olive wood carvings available at several stores in the area. For groceries you’ll find all you need in the local supermarket (Caprabo); the largest in the resort. It’s located right beside the resort entrance and is open from Monday - Saturday till 9pm. On Sundays it closes at 2pm.
