Tell us a bit about yourself. What motivated you to join the animation team at Hotel Cala d&#8217;Or?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am from Argentina and have been living in Cala d&#8217;Or for 20 years. My first trip to Europe was a vacation to Cala d&#8217;Or, and I was so enchanted by the magic of this paradise that I decided to return the following year for a season. That season turned into 20 years, and here I am. I have been a yoga instructor for 26 years, and I enjoy meeting and connecting with people, making their holidays as memorable as mine were here, and ensuring they leave with fond memories of us. I started at the hotel with my yoga classes in the first year. The following year, the guide who was at the hotel no longer worked there, and Sandra, my former boss, who trusted me and whom I respect and love very much, offered me to be part of the hotel&#8217;s staff for activities. I am immensely grateful to her!<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. What do you enjoy most about welcoming new guests on Fridays?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What I enjoy most is sharing everything we can offer and being at their disposal at the hotel, helping them with whatever they need or want to do both in Cala d&#8217;Or and on the island. I like inviting them to join the activities we organize exclusively for them, where we have fun and enjoy ourselves. I also enjoy helping them organize their own excursions around the island, such as when they rent a car. I recommend places and points of interest as well as secret spots depending on where they plan to go. It&#8217;s a must to recommend trying local dishes or restaurants or taking a tour of the Calonge vineyards to taste their wines. And, of course, we chat a bit about everything that comes up at the moment while enjoying an excellent sangria!<\/p>\n<p>One funny anecdote was during my first excursion. I was so nervous that we called to rent a minibus for about 10 people, and they sent us a big bus for 60 people. It was hilarious to see such a big bus waiting at the hotel door just for us. The driver asked, &#8220;Where are the people?&#8221; Anyway, he took us regardless. During the excursion, it rained, and we had to walk through the mountains. Out of nerves, I got lost with the clients. I didn&#8217;t know where I was or which way to go, and worst of all, there was no mobile signal. I couldn&#8217;t hide it; I had no choice but to tell them the truth. They started laughing a lot, and then I did too. It was like a laughter therapy session\u2014we couldn&#8217;t stop. They encouraged me and helped me find the right path. We returned to the hotel wet but safe and sound, and every time we saw each other in the hotel afterward, we would just look at each other and start laughing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Of all the activities you organize, which is your favourite and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yoga is, of course, my favourite. Many clients come to experience yoga, and many have never done any activities before. What makes me truly happy is that many of them return home and start practising yoga. Some come back the following year and tell me about it, which is very gratifying. I also enjoy the coastal walks; hearing their comments of amazement or sighs and watching them enjoy and appreciate the views is very rewarding.<\/p>\n<p>Could you share a memorable experience you&#8217;ve had with guests during one of the excursions or activities?<\/p>\n<p>There are some clients who were here very recently this year. They always join some of the excursions with me, and for years, they have always given me something. There is a special bond with them; they are like my older siblings. This year, I wanted to surprise them with a little gift. They never expected it and were truly moved\u2014their eyes sparkled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. What recommendations would you give to guests visiting Cala d&#8217;Or for the first time?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I recommend and invite them to join our excursions. We have many different ones each week, going to markets and fairs in different towns. These excursions take guests to emblematic places with great beauty and spectacular views, like Mondrago, for example. Some are closer to the hotel, such as walks through S&#8217;Alqueria Blanca, an authentic Mallorcan village, while others are a bit farther away, like the Drach Caves.
